Chocolate Week ‘Choctails’ at The Botanist, London

To celebrate National Chocolate Week, two of Tom and Ed Martin’s most stylish bars: The Botanist on Sloane Square and Chiswell Street Dining Rooms near Barbican, have teamed up with luxury British chocolatier, Hotel Chocolat to produce an exclusive range of decadent hot drinking chocolates and cocktails.

Resident mixologist, Paulo Brammer has whipped up his magic using the specialist cocoa grower’s variety of Liquid Chocolat: classic dark, sweet caramel and intriguing chilli to design four sinfully good ‘choctails’, each served with the shop’s signature milk chocolate batons. Choose from:

The Ultimate Hotel Chocolat (£4) – this divine minty option combines caramel Liquid Chocolat with hazelnut syrup and refreshing fresh mint tea. Served in a tall glass and garnished with a mint sprig.

Chocolate Orange Melt (£8) – presents the classic combination of chocolate and orange. The silky smooth texture is achieved by mixing together Hotel Chocolat’s Dark Liquid Chocolat with Cointreau liqueur and white crème de cacao. Served in a brandy balloon glass, this option is garnished with a cream float and orange zest sprinkles.

Nutty Divine (£8) – brimming with deeply authentic flavours of cocoa, this concoction teams Dark Classic Liquid Chocolat with hazelnut syrup, crème de cacao and a good measure of Jamaican rum. Served in a tall glass and topped with indulgent whipping cream and almond flakes.

Naughty but Spice (£8) – blending Aztec Chilli Chocolate with Chairman Spiced Reserve rum gives an instant kick whilst the fresh rosemary addition provides the prefect balance to this luxurious treat.
