In the spirit of Downton Abbey, the new Downton's 'Upstairs, Downstairs' Afternoon Tea at Grosvenor House aims to appeal both upstairs and downstairs. The menu has been designed to reflect the home cooking of the time for different social classes.
For the Lord Crawleys among us: smoked-salmon pinwheels, chocolate-dipped éclairs and madeleines; while those hankering for below-stairs pleasures can scoff scones, lemon curd and bread pudding.
Downton's 'Upstairs, Downstairs' Afternoon Tea is served in The Park Room, which has views over Hyde Park, available from 2pm to 6pm every day until 11 November 2012. 'Upstairs, Downstairs' Afternoon Tea costs £34.50 per person, bookable using the calendar at the bottom of this page.
