After the Japanese Occupation (1942-1945), the building was utilised by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) as its headquarters before being turned into a hotel.

The Post Bar is a stylish, contemporary bar located just off the lobby area of the hotel. The bar is set in the original transaction hall of what was Singapore’s General Post Office (built in 1928) – so the interior has an impressive scale with high ceilings and a spacious feel, Despite its modern decoration, fine lines, and comfy couches and chairs, the Post Bar still retains a certain historicity about the place
The design features a sleek, uncluttered look- combining the original architectural elements with modern fittings such as underlit honey onyx bar tables, standing artichoke table lamps made from cardboard, a free standing main cocktail bar, with numerous seating options- at the bar, around high bar style tables and stools, or at low tables and chairs. Large plasma screen TVs are discretely placed for those who wish to follow sports action.
A private Music Room is set at one end of the main bar area- with luxurious soft furnishings- full height wall drapes and mirror- and an underlit translucent floor. The unique post box situated at the entrance of the bar is still fully functioning to this day.

The Fullerton has come up with there own unique slings and proudly presents a collection of eight refreshing Slings by their dedicated mixologists which combine elements of both vintage and modern

The Fullerton has a long history with the iconic Merlion, The Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore.
Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name — Singapura — meaning "lion city" or "kota singa"

With the Singapore F1 Night race a highlight of the singpaore calender Post bar has created five F1 inspied cocktails that are avaible thorughout the year.

The Fullerton Hairpin is a Refreshing F1 cocktail created by the hotels dedicated bartender in 2008 and is bright mix of pineapple juice and cranberry double teamed by vodka, midori and peach
schnapps and smoothened with grenadine syrup

The post bar also provides a menu featuring sandwiches, salads, burgers, and the house specialty fish & chips. Gourmet bar snacks are available throughout the day and evenings.
One of the most popular is the Post Bar’s signature fries 'Post Bar fries' are served with caramelized onion mayonnaise. They are made of USA Idaho potatoes, and fried twice with a light tempura batter. Post Bar’s special house blend of spices is then sprinkled on just before the fries are served.
