12TH OCTOBER 2012 UNTIL 28TH OCTOBER 2012
FREE EXHIBITION
Dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld's latest book, 'The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL's classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld', this photographic exhibition will display the timelessness and versatility of the iconic CHANEL jacket. Taking place at the Saatchi Gallery, the exhibition will showcase 113 photographs of Lagerfeld's friends of the House, each modelling the jacket in their own unique way. Adapting it to suit their personal style - Lily Allen wears it as a cape, it drapes around Stella Tennant and is transformed into a vest on model Edie Campbell - the garment will be adapted to reflect different personalities and signify its ability to embrace inimitable styles. Simultaneous to the exhibition, there will be a selection of jackets from the latest collections displayed in the windows of CHANEL's Bond Street, Sloane Street and Brompton Cross boutiques.
About Saatchi Gallery:
The Saatchi Gallery re-opened on 9th October 2008 in the former military barracks of the Duke of York's Headquarters. The 70,000 square feet represents a significantly larger space than its previous 40,000 occupancy at County Hall. Ousted from the Southbank site in 2005, the re-location of the gallery had long been speculated upon and hotly anticipated. More about Saatchi Gallery
